These microwaveable bowl cosies were part of a small business run by Tracey Warne, who sadly passed away in November 2023 after being diagnosed with secondary brain tumours.
Tracey was just 47. She had first been diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 35 and faced years of ongoing treatment. In September 2023, the cancer spread to her brain. Despite undergoing radiotherapy and showing incredible strength through further complications and seizures, Tracey passed away 12 weeks after being given just six weeks to live. Her family shared how the brain tumour deeply affected her personality and sense of self - something we hear all too often from those affected.
Tracey led a remarkable life. She served in the RAF and later worked as a prison warden, roles that reflected her courage and resilience. In later years, she set up a small business selling these clever bowl cosies -heat-resistant holders designed to make lifting hot bowls from the microwave safer and easier. She sold them at craft fairs, including the Birmingham Christmas Festival, and the Daily Mail even named them ‘Stocking Filler of the Year’.
Tracey’s parents, Gary and Lynn, have kindly donated the remaining stock in her memory. They have asked only for the cost of materials to be covered, meaning all other proceeds from each sale will go directly towards helping us fund the fight against brain tumours.
By purchasing a bowl cosy, you’ll not only receive a practical gift - you’ll also be honouring Tracey’s legacy and helping us get closer to a cure.
