Active in Scotland, the Cross-Party Group on Brain Tumours (CPGBT) was established through collaborative discussions with Beatrice Wishart MSP following our successful Wear A Hat Day event in March 2024. Patients, supporters and charity representatives connected with their MSPs, paving the way for the Group's inaugural meeting in October 2024.
Cross-Party Groups (CPGs) bring together MSPs, organisations and individuals to discuss specific topics. For the CPGBT, this means scrutinising policies and ensuring that the voices of the brain tumour community are heard by those in positions of power and influence.
Brain Tumour Research holds the secretariat for the CPGBT.
This means that we coordinate meetings and bring together various stakeholders such as Ministers, Members and charity colleagues. We drive the group forward to ensure that progress is being made for the brain tumour community.
CPG Members
“The formation of this CPG is about working together so that improvements can be made in research, diagnosis and treatment for various types of brain tumours that affect too many, predominantly young, people.”
