How your fundraising makes a difference

Every donation, every conversation and every show of support helps us get closer to a world where brain tumours no longer devastate lives. Your fundraising, however big or small, really does make a difference, helping power progress in research into brain tumours and keeping our campaigning momentum to influence an increase in the national investment.

  • £100 could fund a morning of work by one of our scientists, sequencing genes to help identify new drug targets for brain tumours.

  • £500 could fund one month of the technology required to use artificial intelligence to present when and where a tumour will return, with the hope clinicians will be able to intervene faster and improve outcomes for glioblastoma patients.

  • £1,000 could support a week of MRI scan data analysis, revealing clues about brain tumour recurrence.

  • £2,740 represents the cost of a day of research, sustaining long-term and potentially life-saving research at one of our Research Centres of Excellence, offering new hope to the thousands diagnosed and
    living with this devastating disease.

Israr’s story

When Israr was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2022, she was told that, without treatment, she had just nine months to live. A 16-hour surgery to remove the tumour left her unable to walk, but thanks to weeks of rehabilitation, Israr is back on her feet and determined to do everything she can to help fund research to find new treatments and cures for brain tumours.

“Fundraising gives me a sense of purpose; it means something positive can come from my experience. From Curry Quiz Nights to 50km ultra challenges, I’ve done all sorts over the years.”
