TayFest to remember "forever loved" six year old

A couple, who lost their six-year-old only child, Taylan, and set up the Fundraising Group Tay’s Tribe, are building a legacy in his name to help improve outcomes for children and adults diagnosed with deadly brain tumours.

Last Saturday, Laura and husband Toygun (pictured above), assisted by an army of family and friends who all support Tay’s Tribe, put on their second TayFest event to raise funds for Brain Tumour Research. First held in June 2024, TayFest is a festival specifically targeted at children, within an established Warwickshire-based music festival.

Highlights on the day included a visit from the Gruffalo and Zack George, otherwise known as ‘Steel’ from BBC’s Gladiators (pictured below)but there were all kinds of exciting activities to amuse the kids, ranging from Cool Critters – the chance to get up close and personal with a python, as well as a host of other reptiles – a foam party, zoogie boogie disco and circus school, to rock painting and face painting including festive glitter.

Huge congratulations go to Laura and all those involved with Tay’s Tribe who made the day extra special, putting huge smiles on children’s faces, including many of Tay’s friends, who came along with their mums and dads. And the icing on the cake was that TayFest 2.0 raised more than £4,000 towards the fight to find a cure for brain tumours, which kill more children than any other cancer.

Add your donation to honour Taylan.
