Good luck for Walk of Hope tomorrow!

Hundreds of our wonderful supporters across the country are set to put their best foot forward tomorrow for our Walk of Hope, to raise vital awareness and funds for research to take us closer to a cure.

We’ll be creating a sea of pink when we stride out in our special Brain Tumour Research t-shirts at six organised events in Motherwell, Elvaston Castle, Luton, London, the New Forest and Torpoint, while many other supporters have organised their own events with friends and family.

Kim Overton will be among those marching to raise money at Brockwell Park on our London Walk. The mum-of-two from Essex lost her husband Stephen (pictured together below) to a glioblastoma in January 2024, just eight months after he was diagnosed.

She said: “When I found out about the lack of investment in research into brain tumours, I knew I wanted to focus my support on Brain Tumour Research. That’s why I’m doing the Walk of Hope; to help raise awareness and funding so that, in the future, more families have better options and more time together.”

At Mount Edgcumbe Country Park in Torpoint, 73-year-old Glenn Lilley (above) will be stepping forward after a meningioma left her with just six months to live unless she underwent surgery. An 11-hour operation in 2021 successfully removed her tumour, but the grandmother has been left with partial deafness, vision impairments, and frequent headaches.

Glenn said: I’m not sure people realise brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40. I’ve had a wonderful life and feel very lucky. Now, I’m beating the drum for the young people living with this disease.”

We can’t wait to join you for an inspiring event to remember all those loved ones lost too soon, those who have faced a diagnosis and those who are living with this devastating disease. Together, we will fuel hope with every step.

If you can’t make it to a Walk of Hope this year, you can still support our game-changing work by making a one-off or regular donation.
