Finnbar’s Force, one of our Member Charities, is pleased to announce the return of its Family Adventure Day. It will be held at Eaton Vale Outdoor Activity Centre on Sunday, 8 September 2019 from 10am to 4pm, where there will be a selection of adventurous activities with something for everyone. There will be small charges for the outdoor activities with all proceeds going to Finnbar’s Force.

Activities and events will be featured for thrill-seeking adults and young people while there will be plenty for smaller children too. There will also be a selection of stalls, including health and wellbeing tents and a barbeque. Since 2017, the charity has raised more than £100,000, some of which has been granted to Brain Tumour Research to support research into brain cancer and potential treatments, with events such as a Jedi walk and the hugely successful outdoor adventure day at Eaton Vale.

Tristan and Claire Cork launched Finnbar’s Force in 2017 after their son Finnbar died in August 2016. His father, Tristan has said that one of the biggest struggles when Finnbar was diagnosed with a grade 2 astrocytoma was finding who to approach for medical advice. The charity is now on a mission to improve communication between medical staff and parents of children undergoing cancer treatment.

Tristan said: “So far the support has been overwhelming and now we want to establish the next stage of our mission.

“We’re going to do some big things and try to make a big difference so we hope people can get behind us.”
