Just a week after brain surgery, beloved broadcaster Davina McCall has shared a catch-up post on social media about the person who performed the operation to remove her colloid cyst.
She said: “I’m going to out my surgeon – he’s called Kevin O’Neill and he has been A-MAZING.”
Davina went on to say that trying to find someone with knowledge of colloid cysts was quite challenging, but Kevin O’Neill is “very experienced as a neurosurgeon and had done another colloid cyst this year. And he’s been brilliant, got the whole thing.” She thanked Kevin and his team for taking such really good care of her and said she’s doing so well now.
Kevin, who is Co-Investigator of Research at our Centre of Excellence at Imperial College, London, responded to Davina’s post, saying: “My absolute pleasure to have helped the amazing #davinamccall through her recent surgery and be ‘outed' as her surgeon. She is such an insightful, strong, resilient and amazing woman. Thanks for being you! God bless.”
We wish Davina all the very best for her recovery and congratulate Kevin on another amazing feat of surgical wizardry.
