Brain Tumour Research employee takes on the Route to Research

A member of our Brain Tumour Research team has stepped up and committed herself to walking the distance between our Research Centres of Excellence.

Lottie Maguire is making moves towards the 676-mile goal as part of our brand-new challenge, Route to Research. Throughout the challenge, Lottie will cover the distances between our Research Centres at the University of Plymouth, Queen Mary University of London, the Institute of Cancer Research, Imperial College London, the University of Nottingham (where we aim to open our sixth Centre) and the Universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Fundraising Administrator Lottie said: “I have been working in Brain Tumour Research’s Fundraising team now for nearly two years. Last year, I did a five-mile swim for Brain Tumour Research, where I raised more than £200 for the Charity.

“So, when I saw new registrants flooding in for the Route to Research challenge, I instantly knew that this would be my next fundraiser.”

Given the freedom to walk, run, cycle, swim or mix it up to reach her goal, Lottie is completing the challenge with a wide range of styles. She explained: “Through May till July, I will be swimming, walking and using the cycle machines and StairMaster at my local gym to accomplish my goal. With your support, I will meet my target of £275.”

Kitted out in the Fighting Force t-shirt she received after signing-up, Lottie is enjoying the warming weather while ticking off the miles – as well as basking in the knowledge that her efforts will change the lives of brain tumour patients across the UK.

Check Lottie’s progress and donate to her fundraiser, or sign-up and get moving alongside her.
