Among those families who need your help are Nicola and Lee Wharton, whose world was turned upside down when their four-year-old son, Aaron (pictured), was diagnosed with a grade 3 anaplastic ependymoma. Brave Aaron has undergone surgery and radiotherapy, and thankfully his latest scan results were stable. Aaron’s parents know that their son’s future is uncertain and they’re determined to make the most of every day together as a family.
The family of Danny Griffiths have worked with the charity to raise awareness after Danny was diagnosed with an inoperable grade 4 glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) in summer 2018. He underwent chemotherapy to try to prolong his life. He sadly passed away in December 2020, aged 57.
Mary Shumba was diagnosed with a GBM after experiencing facial pain, and underwent surgery, followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Despite her survival prognosis of 12-15 months, Mary was shocked to discover that the treatment options available to her hadn’t changed for decades.
