Brain Tumour Research Patron Theo Burrell is holding an exclusive whisky tasting event to raise funds to help find a cure for the disease.
Hosted at The Caledonian Club in London on Thursday 17th October, the charity event will feature a whisky tasting, champagne reception, dinner and a charity auction, hosted by Theo in collaboration with Dramfool Whisky, all in support of Brain Tumour Research. Scottish rugby legend, Gavin Hasting, will be guest speaker on the evening.
Theo became a Patron of Brain Tumour Research following her diagnosis with a glioblastoma (GBM) in June 2022. It took six months for her brain tumour to be diagnosed after she began suffering symptoms including migraines. She has since undergone life-extending surgery, followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Working closely with us, Theo is committed to raising awareness and money to fund research into the disease. She has supported our Wear A Hat Day and Walk of Hope campaigns, joined us on the steps of Number 10 Downing Street to hand in our brain tumour petition, attended lab tours of our Centres of Excellence (Theo is pictured top at the Wall of Hope) and most recently, welcomed news of our game-changing collaboration with Beatson Cancer Charity with the aim of launching the Scottish Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence.
Ashley McWilliams, Community Development Manager, said: “Theo’s support as Patron of Brain Tumour Research is incredibly important to us and we’re lucky to have her help in raising awareness. The whisky tasting event is going to be a special evening and a great way to raise money to support our vital work to find new treatments and, ultimately, cures for this devastating disease.”
Tickets to this exclusive event cost £135 per person. To find out more or to bag your spot, email Hannah Beattie via clubevents@caledonianclub.com or call 020 7333 8722.
