Bring everyone together for fabulous fundraising events at school, work or in your community. And if you can’t join in on Friday 16th December, don’t worry! You can hold your event on any other day in December to suit you.
“This is a fantastic event which helps to raise awareness of this devastating disease and much-needed money to help find a cure.” That’s why Mark Tindale and his son Jake, 17, are encouraging everyone to get involved.
It’s after Jake (pictured with Mark and step-mum Liz) was diagnosed with an astrocytoma in December 2020. He had surgery to remove the tumour two days before Christmas and an MRI scan twelve weeks later gave him the all clear. Now two years on, Jake’s first yearly scan came back clear and he has started a music production course at sixth form college.
“The news was fantastic, like he’s been given a second chance and he’s now making the most of life. Jake’s been on an incredible journey and his attitude has been amazing to help get him through,” Mark added. “Brain tumours are such a serious condition and more needs be known about them. I just want to give something back in the hope of finding a cure so that other families don’t have to go through what our family has gone through.”
Whatever your plans, wherever you are, we hope you’ll get involved and help us bring hope to the one in three who know someone affected by this devastating disease.
