As we gear up for Christmas, our amazing supporters have been keeping Brain Tumour Research in the headlines as they raise vital funds to support our cause.
Amongst those helping to raise awareness is Martin Langdon. He has switched on a spectacular Christmas lights display on his bungalow in North Cornwall to raise funds for the charity in support of his nephew James Flint, who is living with a glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). Speaking to ITV West Country, Martin explained that “every penny counts” and that he was hoping to beat his fundraising total of £1,500 from last year.
On Friday, pupils at Elmswell Primary School in Suffolk took part in Wear A Christmas Hat Day for Brain Tumour Research. They donned their festive headgear to raise funds in memory of Harry Crick, who died from a brain tumour in October this year, aged two. Harry’s brother James (pictured with his friend Freddie) is a pupil at the school. Their fantastic fundraising caught the eye of their local press and was shared in the East Anglian Daily Times, Suffolk News and Bury Mercury.
Brain tumour patient Hannah King-Page has been crafting to help find a cure and has shared her story in the Birmingham Mail, Coventry Telegraph and Solihull Observer. Hannah was diagnosed with a GBM in November 2020 and is selling homemade macramé decorations online to raise money for the charity. Her craft creations have raised more than £1,500 for the charity.
