Thank you all for joining us for 99 Miles in November!

With December just around the corner, we would like to thank everyone who took part in our 99 Miles in November event.

All across the UK over the past month, our committed and selfless supporters have been moving to clock up a grand total of 99 miles, hoping to beat the cold and help find a cure for all types of brain tumours.

Brand new for 2024, 99 Miles in November allowed participants to complete our fundraising challenge at their own pace. Whether they decided to walk, jog, run, cycle, swim or ride on horseback, their movement this month enabled us to continue sustainable funding into researching treatments and cures.

A variety of incredible supporters have taken part.

Just weeks after undergoing an operation to remove a brain tumour, 30-year-old Bella Depreli said: “I’ve always been active and when I saw the challenge, I thought, I could do that distance in a month. Not many people realise how little money is invested in research into brain tumours, which is why supporting Brain Tumour Research is so important to me.”

Our very own researchers got involved, too. At our Researcher Workshop in York on 11th November, 99 scientists took a moonlit one-mile tour of the historic city. Sanjana Ananth, a PhD student funded by Brain Tumour Research, said: “When you’re working in the lab, it can be easy to forget the bigger picture.

“But taking part in the 99 Miles event, and when we do lab tours with the Charity’s supporters, reminds you of why we are doing this work – for the families who desperately need us to find better treatments.”

Whilst this year's 99 Miles in November has now drawn to a close, watch this space for another exciting fundraising event coming soon. Or, visit our fundraising page for our calendar of events across the UK throughout 2025. Find out how you can help find a cure and get involved today.
