We’re delighted to announce influencer, podcaster and content creator Abi Feltham as our new Ambassador.
Abi, 36, was diagnosed with an aggressive grade 3 oligodendroglioma in May of this year, after suffering excruciating headaches, and was given a prognosis of 15 years. Despite this, she continues to inspire and delight on her social media platforms, sharing a searingly honest account of her brain tumour story.
Abi is no stranger to life’s struggles, having previously overcome addiction to drugs and alcohol, as well as mental health issues that left her contemplating suicide. With her trademark wit and warmth, she has built a following of thousands while documenting her journey to sobriety in April 2020, becoming an advocate for self-acceptance.
Now, as Abi navigates life with a brain tumour, she wishes to continue to spread her message of hope and optimism, this time to the brain tumour community.
“I want to share my story because cancer is terrifying,” said Abi. “If I can provide a bit of hope for someone in this position, that’s really important to me.
“As an Ambassador for Brain Tumour Research, I want to help fight for change. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to brain tumours since records began in 2002 and that is not good enough. I know first-hand how tremendously horrible brain cancer is and the effects it can have on families.”
Having undergone two brain surgeries, Abi is now embarking on her second round of chemotherapy. As she takes on her toughest fight yet, her infectious positivity stands as a beacon of hope in our fight to find a cure for this devastating disease.
