To accelerate progress towards new treatments and, ultimately, cures for brain tumours, we need greater investment in research. That is why we are calling on governments and larger charities to invest at least £45 million a year, so researchers can deliver the breakthroughs that people affected by brain tumour so desperately need.
Brain tumours are high on the political agenda right now. And you can help drive change in just a matter of minutes. This autumn, we have the opportunity to ensure health ministers commit new funds so scientists can innovate and deliver more effective brain tumour treatments. We want your voice to be heard when those decisions are made.

Make your voice heard this autumn in Scotland and Wales
In the coming weeks, politicians from across the party spectrum will meet at Holyrood and the Senedd at cross-party groups to discuss the challenges faced by brain tumour patients. We need your support to ensure good attendance by politicians at these meetings.
Our ask is simple: please email your representative and ask them to attend.
Your email doesn’t need to be complicated – it just needs to explain why this cause is so important to you. We’ve provided meeting details below and a short paragraph to include in your email.
Before you send your email, please remember to:
- Include your name and address so your representative knows you are a constituent
- Explain your connection to brain tumours and why this issue matters to you
- CC campaigning@braintumourresearch.org so we can follow up with the full agenda and briefing details
In Scotland:
The Cross-Party Group (CPG) on Brain Tumours, chaired by Finlay Carson MSP and convened by Brain Tumour Research, will focus on whole genome sequencing inequalities and implementation – a key issue for our community. Genome sequencing is a key precondition for people to access clinical trials.

We are proud to be convening the first ever Cross-Party Group on Brain Tumours at the Senedd. This is a big step forward for the brain tumour community in Wales, especially as the Welsh Government is developing a National Cancer Plan for Wales. On the agenda for this inaugural meeting will be the importance of increasing investment in research and expanding access to trials in Wales. Ask your Member of the Senedd (MS) to join the group’s first meeting, and help build our network of supportive MSs in Wales.

In Northern Ireland:
We are currently planning the inaugural meeting of the All-Party Group on Brain Tumours in Stormont. As in Wales, this will the first group of its kind in Stormont and we are looking forward to the opportunity to bring together parliamentarians and policy makers to push for change. The agenda of this first meeting will focus on understanding the current landscape of whole genome sequencing, trials and research into brain tumours and we will update our supporters in Northern Ireland once a date has been confirmed
