This autumn, Brain Tumour Research will attend all the major political party conferences. Our team will make the case for greater urgency, ambition and investment in research into brain tumours, calling on the new Prime Minister and all MPs to ensure scientists have the tools they need to find new, more effective treatments for the disease.
MPs receive hundreds of invitations during conference season. A personal message from a constituent is far more likely to cut through than another standard email from a charity. We have a new health minister and want to ensure that she prioritises brain tumours. We want to ensure that a large number of MPs are pressing her to take action on our issue. By writing to your MP today and asking them to meet Brain Tumour Research at their party conference, you will help us ensure the voices of our community are heard and reach the greatest number of potential political supporters as we highlight the urgent need for increased research funding.
It may be the first time you’ve contacted your MP, so here are some useful tips for your email:
- Include your name, address and postcode so your MP knows you are their constituent
- Explain your connection to brain tumours and how you or a loved one has been affected
- Highlight the urgency of finding new treatments
- Clearly request that your MP meets with Brain Tumour Research at their party conference
