Brain Tumour Research staff step up to support Walk of Hope

2 min read

The Brain Tumour Research team has been getting involved in a host of fundraising activities ahead of this Saturday’s Walk of Hope.

Day-to-day office life was slightly upended with the opportunity to create Hope stones, guess the name of the teddy bear, enter a raffle, or get stuck into the bake sale.

Across the country, remote and office-based staff are aiming to walk a collective 274 miles this week – that’s one-and-a-half miles per day per person. One of the main attractions at head office in Milton Keynes was the treadmill, giving team members the opportunity to escape the storms and burn off those bake sale calories.

Our CEO, Dan Knowles, even spent an entire meeting getting his steps in!

Staff had the opportunity to create Hope stones, join in on a quiz and game of bingo, guess the name of the teddy bear, enter a raffle, or get stuck into a bake sale.

Despite the fun, this week served to remind us of the vital work we do. Brain tumours kill more children than leukaemia, and more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other type of tumour – but the stark fact is that just 1% of national cancer research spend has been allocated to this devastating disease since records began in 2002.

Brain Tumour Research helped to fund the fight this week, and now we’re asking you to do the same.

Whether you’re joining us at an organised Walk of Hope event on Saturday (28th September) or planning your own walk, we can’t wait to see your photos on social media. Don’t forget to tag us – @BrainTumourRsch on Instagram and X.

If you can’t make it to a Walk this year, you can still show your support by making a donation.
