This Father’s Day weekend, join The Wake Fundraising Group’s 4.4.48 Challenge and raise vital funds to help find a cure for brain tumours.
The Wake Fundraising Group was set up in memory of Jonathan Wake, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in November 2019. He underwent emergency surgery and was awaiting immunotherapy treatment when a scan revealed more tumours had grown. Jonathan passed away in March 2020, just three months after his diagnosis.
Jonathan was a keen sportsman and on Father’s Day last year, his family and friends organised the first 4.4.48 Challenge in his memory. More than 300 people participated and together they raised £21,250.
This Father’s Day weekend sees the return of the challenge. From Friday 18th to Sunday 20th June, participants will set out on a gruelling test of their physical and mental endurance, running four miles every four hours for 48 hours – the equivalent of two marathons in two days.
The registration fee is £10 and once you sign up, we’ll send you a Brain Tumour Research t-shirt and add you to the special Facebook Group to connect with people completing the challenge from all over the world.
