Thanks to your support, 2022 has been our best year ever!
Ground-breaking progress at our Centres of Excellence is proof that our research is making a difference. We’ve been excited to share with you pioneering breakthroughs from our Centres, including discoveries which could benefit patients with glioblastoma (GBM), medulloblastoma, meningioma and acoustic neuroma.
What’s more, we’ve received strong applications from several major research institutions in the UK to become our new Centre – we will announce this exciting new partnership in March 2023. And, with your support, we will be looking to fund a fifth Centre in 2024.
Following the launch of the Pathway to a Cure – breaking down the barriers All-Party Parliamentary Group on Brain Tumours (APPGBT) inquiry, our campaigning work has been helping gather key information. On behalf of the APPGBT, we will publish the inquiry report in March 2023.
We continue to build relationships with our Members and other charities – in particular we have partnered with brainstrust to help fund the Patient Research Involvement Movement, which is helping to ensure clinical research projects are aligned with the needs of patients.
We’ve also partnered with the Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission to fund its Brain Tumour Research Novel Therapeutics Accelerator initiative, a programme that will help bridge the gap between the promising research findings that might lead to future treatments and cures, and the number of these findings that progress into successful clinical trials.
Thank you for all you have done this year. We couldn’t continue our vital work without you.
Wishing you a peaceful and restful Christmas.
