Uniting our voices on World Cancer Day

2 min read

Held every year on 4th February, World Cancer Day is a global initiative which aims to “raise awareness, improve education and catalyse action” in order to “reimagine a world where millions of preventable cancer deaths are saved and access to life-saving cancer treatment and care is equitable for all”.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national investment has been allocated to this devastating disease.

Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. We are the only national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours through campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year.

The 2023 theme of World Cancer Day is ‘uniting our voices and taking action’. You can add your voice to our call for greater investment and help us get closer to our vision of finding a cure for all types of brain tumours by becoming a campaigner with Brain Tumour Research.

Hugh Adams (pictured), our Head of Stakeholder Relations, said: “Two decades ago we were shouting outside Westminster and now we are talking inside. Change can’t come soon enough and we will continue to campaign, to ask questions and to demand answers on behalf of all those affected by brain tumours.

“We need those committed to our cause to help us amplify our voice because we know that together we are stronger. Please join us as we campaign for real change because brain tumour patients and their loved ones deserve better.”
