Today, 1st September, would have been our Patron, Theo Burrell’s 40th birthday, a devastating and poignant milestone for a disease that kills more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer.
Theo was a force of nature, passionately campaigning to end inequalities for brain tumour patients and fundraising to power life-changing research. After her terminal diagnosis in 2022, she was absolutely determined to make a difference for others.
As the momentum and political interest in brain tumours mounts, and we are hopeful for the future, we remember all those we have lost, including Theo. We continue to keep them in our hearts as we campaign for increased investment in research and access to clinical trials to change the story for brain tumour patients, bringing hope now and for the future.
Theo’s family and all who loved her are in our thoughts, especially today.
