Wear A Hat Day came early to Brain Tumour Research yesterday, with our team taking part in a host of hat-themed activities to celebrate our annual flagship fundraiser.
The day began with a Best Hat of the Day competition, with both remote staff and those based at our Milton Keynes headquarters invited to make and wear a hat for the day, with the help of family and friends, and a prize given for the best effort. Wearing a towering top hat in our signature pink and yellow, our CEO Dan Knowles awarded a bottle of fizz to Supporter Care Supervisor Debbie Alder for her fabulous 15th Anniversary floral headdress.
A fundraising cake sale came next, followed by a ‘Guess Who’s Behind the Hat’ picture quiz. Staff then sat down to a shared lunch before taking part in a game of 'Rock ’n’ Roll Bingo'.
Miniature Stetsons and woolly hats were hidden around the office, to be found and exchanged for a prize, and the day wrapped up with a raffle, with a host of wonderful prizes to be won. Together, we raised more than £850!
It’s not too late to show your support and get involved in Wear A Hat Day on Friday 28th March. Simply pick a challenge – it could be walking five miles, completing a 10km run, or climbing 100 flights of stairs – set up your JustGiving page, pop on a hat, and tell all your friends about it on social media alongside the hashtag #WearAHatDay, asking for a donation to our cause. Don’t forget to tag us!
