Bucks business prepares for ‘oar-some’ challenge

A 15-strong team from a Buckinghamshire-based communications business is preparing to take part in this year’s much-anticipated Milton Keynes Dragon Boat Festival.

The team from Totally Converged Solutions will see directors join with sales and admin staff for a race against more than 40 other teams in a 200-metre course at the city’s Willen Lake this Saturday (24th September).

It’s the first time the company has entered the race, which it is doing in aid of Brain Tumour Research.

Andrew Thomas, one of two directors at TC Solutions, said: “Brain Tumour Research is one of our customers but it is also a charity close to my heart because of the experience of a close family member. It was that which made me aware of the lack of funding in research and so it’s great to be able to help in this way.”

He added: “I’m really looking forward to the race. It’s a good opportunity to get our brand out there whilst raising money for charity and having fun as part of a great team event.

“We’ve also got lots of friends and family getting involved and if people want to come and visit us on the day to say hello and have a drink with us, they’re more than welcome. As long as we survive this year, our involvement in it will probably become a regular thing.”
