We are delighted to announce that the 20 for 20 Challenge has been nominated for two awards: the Charity Partnership of the Year – Third Sector Awards and the Charity Collaboration of the Year – Charity Times.
Brain Tumour Research joined forces with 20 other charities for lesser-known cancers to launch this exciting fundraiser in autumn last year. 20 for 20 was created in response to the disruption charities have faced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants were invited to take part by choosing a 20-day challenge-filled calendar and completing their 20 for 20 challenge.
The collaboration raised more than £151,000 for the 20 charities involved, and Brain Tumour Research supporters raised £16,000 to support our cause.
Our Chief Executive Sue Farrington Smith MBE, who completed her own 20 for 20 Challenge, said: “Collaboration is at the core of Brain Tumour Research. With COVID-19 causing serious financial disruption and ongoing consequences and uncertainties for many charities, we were pleased to be part of the 20 for 20 Challenge which aimed to mitigate some of the catastrophic effect the pandemic had on charities.
“Thanks to the hard work and commitment of all involved, and the dedicated efforts of our supporters, the challenge was a great success and exemplified the strength that lies in collaboration. It is wonderful that something so positive and worthwhile came out of a difficult year, and we are delighted that it has been recognised in these two award nominations.”
