The Anni Hofmann Foundation has joined our family as our newest Member Charity. Based in Germany, the Foundation is dedicated to supporting research into glioblastoma and helping to drive progress for people affected by this deadly brain cancer.
The Foundation was established in memory of Anni Hofmann (pictured below with her partner Oscar Wack), who was diagnosed with a glioblastoma in 2012, after she began behaving out of character and experiencing extreme fatigue. Despite undergoing surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, Anni sadly died just six months later, aged 63.
Anni’s stepson Harald Wack, Chairman of the Foundation, said: “We established the Anni Hofmann Foundation to honour Anni’s memory and turn our loss into lasting hope.
“By funding research into glioblastoma, we want to help drive forward the breakthroughs that patients and families so urgently need. No single country will solve this alone — progress will come faster through collaboration, shared expertise and a global commitment to change.”
