Long-term supporters of Brain Tumour Research, Lock & Co. Hatters has been granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment to King Charles III as hatters.

The world’s oldest hat shop, based on St. James’s Street in London, has been committed to donating funds and raising money through additional fundraising events for many years, including our flagship event, Wear A Hat Day.

This year, in partnership with The Worshipful Company of Feltmakers, Lock & Co. hosted an all-day event, for which world-renowned British milliners donated 15 gorgeous hats for a very special prize draw, to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Brain Tumour Research.

Managing Director of Lock & Co. Hatters, Ben Dalrymple (pictured below right with our Head of Stakeholder Relations, Hugh Adams), said: Lock & Co. is tremendously honoured to have been granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment to His Majesty King Charles III as hatters.

“Prior to His Majesty’s Coronation, Lock & Co. had held the Royal Warrant for The Prince of Wales since 1993. Our family business is extremely proud to be able to continue to support and strive for the highest quality, sustainable craftsmanship.”

Ben added: “The King’s Royal Warrant will motivate our entire team further to seek ways in which we can preserve our skills and trade, always remaining focused on protecting the environment, which remains a core objective of the Royal Household.”

Lock & Co. has been the ‘home of hats’ since 1676 and is one of the oldest family-owned businesses still in existence.
