#WearGrey for brain tumour awareness

2 min read

Today, Brain Tumour Research office employees wore grey to raise awareness of those living with brain tumours.

Organised by our sister charity brainstrust, Wear Grey, which runs from 1st to 7th October, is an annual event that aims to bring attention to the daily struggle of people affected by this devastating disease.

Launched in 2012 by Shaun Skinner, a man living with an incurable brain tumour, Wear Grey was his way of advocating for the brain tumour community. Shaun passed away in 2017, but brainstrust continues to hold Wear Grey in his honour.

Brain Tumour Research supports this effort wholeheartedly, and many of our employees donned grey apparel for the first day of Wear Grey week.

Brain tumours claim the lives of more children and adults under 40 than any other type of cancer – yet 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since records began in 2002.

It’s simple to get involved – just wear grey and share your photos on social media with the tags #WearGrey and #brainstrust.

You can also help to fund the fight against brain tumours by donating here.
