We are deeply saddened to hear that Jasmine Freeman, known to many as Jasmine The Warrior Princess, has passed away.
Jasmine was diagnosed with a diffuse midline glioma (also known as DIPG) in February 2023, aged seven. Jasmine had radiotherapy, but faced with a lack of options, her parents, Anthony and Jakki, set up a crowdfunding page to help their beloved daughter access a clinical trial in The Netherlands.
Sadly, the tumour proved too aggressive and Jasmine was unable to continue with the trial.
She passed away yesterday, Sunday 28th January.
A post on the Jasmine The Warrior Princess Facebook page shared the devastating news: “On Sunday morning at 03:30am, the night got brighter as another star was added to the sky and our lives became darker. Jasmine-Lily, the beautiful warrior princess passed away peacefully in her sleep after almost a year of fighting, against all odds.
“She has been surrounded by family and loved ones all throughout the day and is currently resting at the children’s hospice where she has all her favourite teddys and music.
“Jasmine has touched the hearts and minds of so many people and she is going to leave a hole in our lives that cannot be filled.
“But we will remember her every single day as the funny, witty, caring and most beautiful little girl.”
Our thoughts are with Anthony, Jakki and all of Jasmine’s loved ones. She will remain in our hearts are we continue our fight to find a cure for this cruel disease.
