Thousands of Brain Tumour Research supporters are stepping forward today to help find a cure for brain tumours.
We have been delighted to see so many of you registering and planning your own Walk of Hope. Wherever you are and however far you are walking, good luck – we hope you have a wonderful time today.
Amongst those walking today is John Hart who, along with more than 40 friends and family, is tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks. John is walking for his wife Kirstin, who was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) in April.
Fifteen-year-old Ruth Lamb (pictured) was inspired by Chloe Askew, six, who was diagnosed with an ependymoma when she was just two. Ruth has received messages of support from celebrities including Britain’s Got Talent winner Jon Courtenay and comedian Keith Lemon ahead of her 5,000-step walk today.
Neil Danziger was diagnosed with a pilocytic astrocytoma earlier this year and is planning on walking a 13-mile route with friends. Amazingly, Neil has already raised more than £10,000 and says he is going to “keep pushing” to reach £15,000.
A group of 10 supporters will climb Scafell Pike, England’s highest peak, in a walk organised by Taranjit ‘TJ’ Lotay. The walk is in memory of TJ’s mother, Rashpal Lotay, who died in May 2019 from an oligoastrocytoma.
If you are taking part today, thank you. Remember to share your photos on social media and tag Brain Tumour Research and use #WalkOfHope so we can celebrate your fantastic fundraising.
