Tots to create hats for fun fundraiser

Essex pre-schoolers are preparing for a day of hattastic activities to raise funds for Brain Tumour Research.

Around 70 youngsters between the ages of 12 months and four year at Tiddlywinks Pre-School will create and decorate their own hats in the week leading up to Wear A Hat Day on Friday 31st March.

Helen Taylor, manager and director of Tiddlywinks, said: “We’ll be making hats and asking the children to come in wearing them if they want to. We’ll also be exploring hats worn by different types of people, because policemen, firemen and lots of others wear hats. The idea is to make it fun for the children whilst also raising funds and awareness for Brain Tumour Research.”

The pre-school has set up a JustGiving page so people can support its fundraising: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/helen-taylor208

“So far everyone seems very excited about it. My deputy loves a hat and we have a variety of different ones for the children to try on, so we’re all really looking forward to it,” added Helen.

With four weeks to go until Wear A Hat Day there is still time to get involved and plan your very own hat-themed event. The funds and awareness you raise will help us get closer to a cure, bringing hope to the one in three people who know someone affected by a brain tumour.
