With just over two weeks to go until Wear A Hat Day, we’re shining a spotlight on just a few of the hattastic events being planned across the UK.
Nine-year-old Sennen Calver (pictured wearing her pink hat, with her family) became an avid supporter of Brain Tumour Research after her dad Daniel was diagnosed with a grade 2 glioma in March 2018. She is enlisting the help of her school pals to raise vital funds, encouraging her fellow pupils to donate £1 to wear a hat to school on the day. The youngster will also be selling charity wristbands and pin badges in the playground.
Dance teacher Alexandra Lewis is also planning on having some hatty fun with students at her dance school. Children will be invited to attend their dance classes wearing a hat of their choice in return for a small donation. Alexandra’s fundraising is in memory of her dad Philip, who died from a glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) in July 2021.
Ex-soldier and part-time DJ, Ben Robinson will take to the decks for a night of music and fundraising for Wear A Hat Day. Up to 200 guests will be encouraged to wear their favourite hat for an evening of entertainment to raise vital funds after Ben’s own diagnosis with a grade 3 anaplastic oligodendroglioma.
Time is running out to sign up to take part in Wear A Hat Day! Register online here and let’s get hatty to help find a cure.
