Financial services brokerage, Channel Finance Group, has pledged to support Brain Tumour Research after a colleague underwent treatment for the disease.
The organisation has announced a corporate partnership, choosing Brain Tumour Research as its charity of the year. Their support comes after CEO Michael Savage underwent a successful surgery to remove a brain tumour in 2020. Following his diagnosis, Michael is keen to raise funds to accelerate research into finding a cure.
Having already raised more than £750 by taking part in Wear A Christmas Hat Day last December, the team at Channel Finance Group has plans to organise larger events in the future to help raise vital awareness and funds for research into the disease. On Sunday 24th April, a team of walkers will don their finest tartan to take part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk, following a 14.5-mile route from Clydebank to Balloch (Loch Lomond).
Michael, pictured right with colleagues Robyn Johnson, Jennifer Neil and Cameron Henry, said: “Brain Tumour Research is a charity that is personally close to myself and family. By becoming a corporate sponsor of Brain Tumour Research, we aim to raise as much money as possible to help combat this awful disease and the stigmas that are attached to it. We hope that we will be able to make even a small difference in supporting those going through it and their families and look forward to following the amazing advancements being made in this important research.”
