In the book, Cat, who was diagnosed with a glioblastoma (GBM) on 12th June 2020, shares her brain tumour story, which includes the standard treatment of surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. We are delighted that since her 119 days of treatment, Cat has seen significant reduction in the size of the tumour as revealed in her MRI scans over the last year. Long may that continue!
Also in her book, Cat chronicles how over a 17-week period during 2021 she walked, rowed, cycled, trampolined and coached trampolining while covering a distance of 1206.20km – a nod to the date Cat was diagnosed. She certainly got up to lots of crazy adventures, raising close to £3,000 for the charity and we particularly enjoyed reading about her cycles and walks in and around Milton Keynes from where Brain Tumour Research operates.
Cat wrote: “Brain tumours are incurable and I will be monitored with MRI scans for the rest of my life. Research into brain tumours is extremely underfunded and, as a brain tumour survivor, I know how vital this research is in supporting others who are on their own journeys.”
Cat encourages people to donate or fundraise to help others enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle following a brain tumour diagnosis.
Dubbing her book: “My story of strength, bravery, determination and positivity… I am indestructible” – Cat really is so inspiring!
