We are proud to be welcoming a new Fundraising Group to our family.
Team Hopkins - Winning for Did has been set up by the family of David Hopkins (aka Did) to raise vital funds in his memory.
Did was diagnosed with a glioblastoma (GBM) in September 2020. He underwent the standard NHS treatment of surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and through crowdfunding accessed pioneering treatment in Germany. Sadly, Did passed away 14 months later on 6th November 2021, leaving his wife Nicki and three children Dylan, Lydia and Sydney.
Nicki is an active campaigner for greater investment into research, engaging support from her MP Holly Mumby-Croft and attending meetings of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Brain Tumours (APPGBT).
In March, Nicki and Holly organised for the North Lincolnshire Council’s Church Square House to light up pink and yellow to raise awareness of Wear A Hat Day, and daughter Sydney organised an event at her school which raised £515.
Team Hopkins, including Did’s eldest daughter Lydia who is an ambassador, intends to continue to campaign and raise awareness and funds to find a cure.
Nicki said: “I will continue working with Brain Tumour Research to help raise awareness of this critically underfunded area of cancer research. I owe it to my wonderful husband and to all the other amazing brain tumour patients and their families who I’ve met on this journey so far.”
Text DID to 70085 to donate £5 to Brain Tumour Research. Texts cost £5 plus one standard rate message.
