Supporters are in the final stages of preparation ahead of our Jog 26.2 Miles in May challenge which starts on Sunday.
Thousands of people across the UK have signed up to the challenge and will complete a marathon in May to raise vital funds and awareness to help find a cure for brain tumours.
Amongst those taking on the challenge is John Payne, who lost his brother Matt to a glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) in November 2021, aged 38. John (pictured left, with Matt) is well on his way to achieving his £1,000 target and says he is “determined to raise as much money as I can to help fund vital research for this disease.”
Felicity Crampton is taking on the challenge inspired by her “fun, wonderful, loving dad”, Charles Bevan, who died of a GBM in February. Felicity, who herself is living with two pituitary tumours, said: “I desperately want to help find a cure. I don’t want anyone else to pass away from this horrible, disgusting, terrible disease. When you find out someone you love has a brain tumour, you’re grieving for them from that first day.”
Having already raised more than £1,100 on his fundraising page, Philip Boal is planning to walk a mile every day in May to complete his challenge. Philip’s efforts come just weeks after he underwent surgery to remove a meningioma. He said: “I feel really passionately about this because there is such a lack of awareness of this devastating disease.”
Good luck to everyone taking part in the challenge!
