A Norfolk farm shop owner is hosting a Good Friday fundraiser today.
Emma Tacon is inviting people to join an egg-citing event she is holding at Tacon’s Farm Shop in Rollesby, Great Yarmouth, to raise funds for Brain Tumour Research and the British Red Cross in Ukraine.
Visitors to her Great Pottery Easter Egg Day are invited to join in with an Easter egg trail quiz for their chance to win a one-to-one pottery session and take part in a ‘find the egg’ game in which families pay £5 to search for 30 hidden handmade ceramic Easter eggs.
The event is taking place today (Friday 15th April) from 10:30am to 3pm and will include refreshments, cakes, a barbecue and colouring activities for children.
Emma’s fundraising is after her son Laurie (pictured) was diagnosed with a subependymoma, aged three. He underwent surgery followed by radiotherapy and now at age 11 remains stable and is being monitored with annual scans.
Emma, who is also known for holding an annual asparagus festival to support Brain Tumour Research, said: “I fundraise for Brain Tumour Research because so many people are affected by brain tumours and there are so many different types that there’s a lot more research that needs to be done. We’ve also chosen to support the British Red Cross in Ukraine because it’s terrible what’s happening out there and we want to help those in need.”
