Brain Tumour Research is delighted to be welcoming employees back to the office.
To adhere to COVID-19 guidance, most staff have been working from home full-time since March 2020, with a limited number coming to the office in order to continue to fulfil vital roles to ensure all our supporters’ needs are met.
Now, the charity is pleased to see the return of colleagues to the office. The return to face-to-face working also heralds the trial of a new flexible working arrangement.
Based on a 60:40 hybrid model, the trial will allow people to work from home for up to two days a week. New core hours have also been introduced so colleagues can start earlier or finish later. The trial will run for three months, at which point it will be reviewed and the workforce consulted.
Our Chief Executive, Sue Farrington Smith MBE, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming staff back to the office and are pleased with the positivity around the return.
“We surveyed the team and were pleased to discover that they recognised the important benefits that face-to-face working brings, not only in engendering team spirit, but in terms of productivity and efficiency, engagement, and, importantly, general wellbeing and successful collaboration between teams within the charity and beyond.
“We are aware that returning to the office after a long period of working from home will mean change for many people and we are sensitive to any anxieties that may arise as a result. We hope the new flexible working arrangement will give the team greater flexibility to accommodate their personal circumstances, whilst also recognising the valuable benefits of working face-to-face.”
