With a diverse career spanning multiple industries, broadcaster, podcaster, author, property expert and businesswoman Sarah Beeny is a well-known and well-respected national treasure and household name.
Co-founder of a property development company by the age of 24, Sarah was approached to present Channel 4’s hit show Property Ladder in 2001, marking her transition into television and the start of a 25-year-strong presence on our screens.
She went on to host a range of successful shows including Double Your House for Half the Money and Help! My House is Falling Down, while simultaneously establishing one of the country’s first online dating website.
Sarah is a vocal leader on environmental issues and is passionate about sustainable building and development. Her commitment to architectural preservation took centre stage in Sarah Beeny’s Restoration Nightmare. The documentary series followed Sarah, together with her husband and four sons, as they restored Rise Hall, a Grade II* listed stately home, to glory, turning it into an award-winning wedding venue.
In 2020, Sarah and her family relocated to Somerset, embarking on the land restoration of a 220-acre dairy farm. This journey is chronicled in Sarah Beeny's New Life in the Country, a popular series now in its fourth season, showcasing her hands-on approach to rural living and sustainable building.
In 2022, Sarah publicly shared her experience with breast cancer. Her documentary, Sarah Beeny vs Cancer, provided an intimate look at her personal journey while shedding light on advancements in breast cancer treatment, drawing widespread acclaim for its informative and compassionate perspective.
In addition to her professional and personal achievements, Sarah is the proud mother of four sons, who, together with their father, form the indie rock band, The Entitled Sons. She credits her sons as her greatest inspiration and a constant source of motivation, and together, they tackle tricky topics on their popular weekly podcast.
Sarah understands all too well the heartbreak that families face due to brain tumours as she was just 10 years old when her mother, Ann, died of breast cancer that metastasised to her brain, aged 39. Sadly, Sarah later went on to lose her step-mum, Patricia, to this devastating disease too.
Sarah has generously supported Brain Tumour Research for more than a decade, taking part in Wear A Hat Day every year and attending events to wield her influence and raise awareness.
To mark our 15th anniversary year in 2025, Sarah presented a film showcasing our research impact since the Charity began and the pioneering progress we have made to bring us closer to a cure.
