Welcoming a new Group to our fundraising family

2 min read
A Fundraising Group has been set up to remember and honour mum-of-two Charlotte Hobbs and to help find a cure. We would like to extend a warm welcome to One for the Road to our family of Fundraising Groups.

Charlotte passed away nearly 12 years after being diagnosed with an anaplastic astrocytoma. She underwent a craniotomy and radiotherapy and subsequently had many years of stable MRI scans. During that time she gave birth to two beloved daughters, Catrin and Freya, but was devastated to learn, in October 2020 that the brain tumour had returned.

She was put back on chemotherapy but sadly exhausted all treatment options and passed away in March this year.

We are grateful for Charlotte’s support – she raised thousands to help find a cure – and fondly remember her taking part in the 100 Star Jumps a Day in November Challenge, just four months before she died. Now her family and friends are continuing her amazing legacy.

Husband Dafydd described Charlotte as: “An inspirational and unfalteringly brave woman, kind and selfless with an eternal smile.

And the reason for the Fundraising Group’s name? Charlotte wouldn’t end a night of partying without encouraging everyone to have: ‘One for the road’.

To donate in memory of Charlotte go to braintumourresearch.org/donation/donate-now and add One for the Road as your reason for supporting us.
