Tom announced he had been diagnosed with a glioblastoma (GBM) in October 2020, whilst his wife Kelsey was pregnant with the couple’s second child. He died on 30th March 2022, aged 33, leaving Kelsey and their two children, Aurelia and Bodhi.
Following his diagnosis, Tom was a passionate advocate for raising awareness of the disease and spoke openly about the impact of his diagnosis.
He campaigned for better options for brain tumour patients, including speaking at a meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Brain Tumours (APPGBT), and formed close bonds with many patients and families affected by this devastating disease.
Tom’s legacy continues to inspire those who knew and loved him. This Brain Tumour Awareness Month, his close friend and bandmate Siva Kaneswaran vowed to “finish what Tom started”.
Hugh Adams, our spokesperson, said: “Our thoughts are with Kelsey and the children, Tom’s bandmates and all his family, friends and the legions of fans who loved him.
“Tom’s loss was felt greatly by many in our community and across the world. He was a remarkable and talented man, and we will always be grateful to him for the work he did to raise awareness of this heart-breaking disease. His legacy lives on and we at Brain Tumour Research will remember Tom as we continue our work to find a cure for this most devastating disease.”
