Ten days in to the One Million Keepy Uppy Challenge for Brain Tumour Research and we are nearly halfway to reaching our goal!
Almost 500,000 keepy uppies have been pledged and supporters are raising vital funds to help find a cure for brain tumours. Don’t worry if you’re not on our team yet – there’s still time to get involved as our World Cup challenge runs until the final whistle is blown in Qatar on Sunday 18th December.
Amongst those putting their fancy footwork to good use is seven-year-old Taylor Jose. Football-mad Taylor (pictured) is aiming to do as many keepy uppies as she can over the month-long challenge.
It’s after her mum Samantha was diagnosed with a meningioma in July. She underwent surgery to remove most of the tumour and now lives with side effects, including fatigue and memory problems.
Samantha said: “Taylor has played football since she was three and she loves it, so this is a great challenge for her to get involved in. As soon as she gets out of bed, she is doing this challenge for me which is so lovely. I’m really proud of her.”
