An army of Brain Tumour Research supporters will hit the streets of London today to help fund the fight to find a cure.
Running 26.2 miles past historic landmarks along the route of the 2024 TCS London Marathon will be Catherine Kelly (below), who is fulfilling a promise she made to her young son, Edward, during treatment for brain cancer, Sammie Boulting and Laura Thompson in memory of their dear friend Simon Penwright, and Harry Maynard (top) who has been inspired to run by his father-in-law, Tim Rayment’s, battle with a glioblastoma (GBM).
And whether you’re lucky enough to be watching the race in person or at home on the screen, make sure you keep your eyes peeled for Jess Walkin. The 30-year-old will be running for his mum Caroline, who has an oligodendroglioma, in a specially-made giant brain costume.
Good luck to everyone taking part in today’s race. It is only with your help that we can continue to fund the fight to find a cure.
