Five tips to plan your Walk of Hope

Atiyah Wazir 1 min read

Our annual Walk of Hope is a nationwide movement united by one shared goal: finding a cure for all types of brain tumours. It’s easy to join in by having your own walk wherever you are. Simply sign up today and we’ll be with you every step of the way to help you make it an impactful day.

We’ve also got five tips to help you start planning:

1. Set a date

Our flagship event takes place on Saturday 26th September at Chatsworth in Derbyshire. But you can get involved wherever you are. Set a date and mark it in your calendar. The sooner you decide, the easier it is to start planning.

2. Choose your route

Countryside walk? Or city stroll? Whether you take on a 10km trek or a 5km trail, you’ll help bring hope to brain tumour patients and their families. It’s your walk, your way, so pick a place that you like or explore a new park, path or garden.

Remember to check for parking, disabled access, toilets and entry fees before choosing your location.

3. Gather your group

Gather people together for a memorable walk. Get kids active, encourage your colleagues to take a break from the workplace and include relatives and four-legged friends. You could also get your group involved in planning and fundraising on the day.

4. Factor in fun

Make the most of your walk by plotting picnic pitstops, having fancy dress, including a treasure hunt or adding a fun challenge of hopping or singing along the way. Whatever you decide, every step will make a huge difference.

5. Smash your fundraising target

We’ve set a fundraising target of £137 per adult. But you can aim higher and know that every pound will help fund vital research into finding a cure. Tell everyone you know and share your fundraising page on social media. Remember to use #WalkOfHope and don’t forget to collect donations on the day.

Each year, nearly 13,000 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour in the UK. By joining our Walk of Hope, you’re helping us change the story. Register today.
