Our Corporate Partner, Dalcour Maclaren, has chosen Brain Tumour Research as its Charity of the Year, inspired by colleague, Sam Horsler, who lost her mum, Sue Horsler (pictured below with Sam) to a glioblastoma.
Last weekend, 25 members of the Dalcour Maclaren team (top left and centre) took on an early Walk of Hope, conquering the Yorkshire Three Peaks, and raising more than £3,000. The demanding route is a 24-mile circular walk that takes in Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough with more than 5,200 feet of ascent.

Simone Greatorex, Charity Team Lead at Dalcour Maclaren, said: “We all really enjoyed our Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk of Hope – it was super tough but a thrilling adventure to do with colleagues.
“It was wonderful to spend quality time together, having lots of laughs and enjoying the stunning views. The weather had cooled down slightly, so conditions were pretty much perfect. We reached the end feeling exhilarated and super proud – the battle to conquer the Yorkshire Three Peaks is nothing compared with the fight brain tumour patients face day in and day out.
“Through our partnership with Brain Tumour Research, we’re proud to support vital scientific progress that is bringing us closer to a cure for all types of brain tumour.”
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk of Hope follows Dalcour Maclaren’s Wear A Hat Day and Black Tie Ball fundraising (see top right), with other activities planned throughout the year.
It’s not too late to register for Walk of Hope and you don’t have to conquer a mountain to get involved. Why not gather your colleagues for a lunchtime stroll and set up a JustGiving page? Every pound adds up and helps us get closer to a cure for brain tumours.
