Brain Tumour Research nominated for Charity Film Award

Our moving film featuring our Ambassador Sam Suriakumar has been nominated for a Smiley Charity Film Award.

Released in July 2025, the film marked Sam’s 40th birthday, a milestone he thought he might not meet.

Sam was diagnosed with a glioma in 2020, after he suffered a seizure on the tube on the way home from work. Since his diagnosis, he has been a passionate advocate for the brain tumour community and has supported Brain Tumour Research through multiple fundraising challenges. He joined us as an Ambassador in 2023.

The Smiley Charity Film Awards (The Smileys) were created to celebrate films made by purpose-driven organisations, which make a real difference.

To cast your vote, click here. Voting closes on 30th January 2026. Winners will be announced in March.

Please share far and wide and encourage your family and friends to vote for Sam’s film too.
