Brain Tumour Research is proud to announce that it has been named the headline charity partner for the 2026 Robin Hood Half Marathon.
The partnership will see the Charity take centre stage at the city’s popular event, which attracts thousands of runners from across the UK and beyond every year.
Taking place on Sunday 27th September, the Robin Hood Half Marathon is one of the UK’s most popular road races, known for its scenic city centre route and strong charitable and community ethos. This partnership marks an exciting new chapter for both organisations as they work together to make a lasting difference.
Participants will have the opportunity to run in support of Brain Tumour Research through charity places, their own self-funded places, by donating at the point of entry and on-the-day engagement activities. Supporters will also be invited to learn more about the charity’s work and how they can get involved beyond race day.

Among those running for Brain Tumour Research will be our Director of Research, Policy and Innovation, Dr Karen Noble. She said: “Being named headline charity partner for the Robin Hood Half Marathon is a hugely significant opportunity for Brain Tumour Research and for everyone affected by a brain tumour. This partnership comes at a pivotal time, as we prepare to launch a new £2.6 million Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence at the University of Nottingham at the end of January, dedicated to tackling glioblastoma – the deadliest form of adult brain cancer.
“Events like this unite communities in a shared determination to drive change. With the support of runners, supporters, and partners across Nottingham and beyond, we can accelerate pioneering research and move closer to the cure that is so desperately needed."
