How can I receive my FREE gift and bumper fundraising pack?

If you have registered and set up your Facebook Fundraiser or JustGiving page for Brain
Tumour Research, we’ll send your free gift to you within 10 working days.

An easy way to get your fundraising page started is to donate yourself or you can ask a friend, family member or colleague to donate to your page.

A great way to get the ball rolling is to share your fundraising page as widely as possible. On Facebook, use the ‘invite’ button (you’ll find this at the top of your fundraising page) to share your fundraiser with all your friends, family and colleagues.

You can find your Facebook Fundraiser here > www.facebook.com/fundraisers/manage

If you are raising funds via JustGiving, click the ‘share’ button on your page to share it
on all your social media channels, as well as via email and WhatsApp.

Please allow 10 working days for our volunteers to ship out
your free gift and fundraising pack to you. We appreciate your support as you continue to raise vital funds to help us get closer to finding a cure for this devastating disease.

Fundraising

How do I get my first donation?

> Donate to your own Facebook Fundraiser or JustGiving page to get it off the mark (Facebook and JustGiving recommend this too) as this will encourage others to donate to help you achieve your target

> Promote your fundraising on all of your social platforms with your family, friends and colleagues letting them know why you are taking on the challenge and explaining that they can support you and donate in just a few clicks. Even just the equivalent of their morning take-away coffee will make a difference!

> Invite people to your Facebook Fundraiser using the 'invite' button at the top of your fundraising page or use the 'share' button on your JustGiving page to share it on all your social media channels

How do I edit or extend the date of my fundraising page?

Once you have set up your Facebook Fundraiser, please check your page to ensure it has been set up correctly. If required, you can edit the title of your fundraiser, as well as the end date. To do this click ‘edit’.

You will see the option ‘When should your fundraiser end?’ – please ensure your fundraiser is set up to end on Friday 7th March 2025 or it will close automatically two weeks from the date you set it up. Once a fundraiser is closed, it cannot be reopened.

If you have chosen to fundraise via JustGiving, the following instructions will help you
edit your page.

Log into your JustGiving account and navigate to your fundraising page. You can find this within your name / profile icon on the top right of your screen and under your
‘Fundraising’ tab.

Once you have your page open, click ‘Edit your page’ in the top left. You can edit your title, fundraising target, summary and story. Don’t forget to click ‘Save’!

How do I collect and pay in offline donations?

We understand that not everyone has a Facebook account or there will be people who wish to donate in cash and that’s no problem!

You can still collect donations from those individuals and pay in via the offline sponsorship form via our website.

Important:
If you have set up a Facebook Fundraiser, please DO NOT pay cash donations into your own bank to transfer them to your fundraising page. This goes against Facebook guidelines and can result in Meta placing a security barrier on your account.

This can cause the loss of your donate button, fundraising page or even you becoming banned from future fundraising under Facebook’s anti-money laundering policies.

We understand it can be helpful to see all of your donations in one place but rest assured if you pay your offline sponsorship in via our website, our team will attribute these funds to you to give you an overall total at the end of your challenge.

Any offline donations will be added to your overall fundraising total at the end of your challenge and will count towards reaching that £137 target to get your FREE special medal.

Alternatively, for those who are happy to donate via card, but do not have a Facebook account, you can set up a JustGiving page.

A JustGiving link can also be shared via WhatsApp, text message and email, as well as across all your social media pages.

Will my offline donations appear on my fundraising page?

No, Facebook only shows donations collected on their platform on your Facebook Fundraiser. But don’t panic! We can attribute any funds you raise outside of Facebook to you and your personal fundraising total.

To do this, when donating via the paying in page, we require you and your donors to reference your name and ‘digital challenge’ in the comments box so our finance
team can allocate the funds correctly.

If this is done, our finance team will be able to attribute your offline donations along with your Facebook Fundraiser to give you a combined total at the end of your challenge.

If you are fundraising via JustGiving, there is the option for you to list offline funds on your JustGiving page so your donors can see your overall
total so far.

You can do this by logging into your JustGiving page, click on your name / icon in the top right corner and select ‘Fundraising’. Click ‘Edit’ on the page you’d like to add the balance to and then click ‘Donations’ along the top of the page. Enter the total of the funds you have raised offline in the amount box and select ‘Save Offline Donations’.

Don’t forget – if you raise £137 or more in total you will receive a free special medal in
March.

Will I receive a free medal if I raise £137?

Yes! Well done on achieving £137 or more! This represents the equivalent of 5% of the cost of a days research at one of our Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence and is a great achievement.

We are so grateful to you for your hard work and determination in raising these vital funds.

Medals are being sent throughout March to celebrate that great achievement.

Once you have raised £137, you will automatically become eligible to receive a medal. You do not need to do anything or contact anyone to receive your medal.
