The Wake Fundraising Group
The Wake Fundraising Group was set up by the friends and family of Jonathan Wake. Jonathan was diagnosed with a brain tumour in November 2019, after he collapsed at home and underwent emergency surgery. He was awaiting immunotherapy treatment when a scan revealed more tumours had grown. Jonathan passed away in March 2020, just three months after his diagnosis.
In June 2020, friends and family organised a 4.4.48 challenge which raised more than £21,250 for Brain Tumour Research. The Wake Fundraising Group plans to take part in a number of sporting challenges and continue to grow its 4.4.48 event, turning Jonathan’s sporting passion into funds to help find a cure for this devastating disease.
