We love spending time with our supporters and pre-Covid19 we have held fantastic Supporter Get Togethers across the UK which were always very special events. Without wanting our supporters to miss out whilst the country is behind closed doors, we have taken these events online and last week supporters from across the country took part in our inaugural Virtual Supporter Get Together.
Via video conferencing, Brain Tumour Research Director of Fundraising Robin Meltzer shared with our supporters how we continue to campaign and raise awareness for the brain tumour community and the families affected in these challenging times. We were also privileged to be joined by Professor Silvia Marino who outlined the research taking place at Queen Mary University London into glioblastoma multiforme and attendees had the opportunity to ask questions about her work.
After hearing about this fascinating research, we broke into small groups to get to know each other and discuss new ways that supporters might be able to make a difference to the future of Brain Tumour Research. Our amazing supporters were coming up with inspired fundraising ideas from holding virtual quizzes with their friends, to back to work events when their workplaces reopen.
We hope to hold similar events in the future.
