Pop star Tom Parker to speak at today’s APPGBT

1 min read

The Wanted singer and brain tumour patient Tom Parker is speaking at this morning’s meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Brain Tumours (APPGBT).

MPs and Peers will be in attendance at the virtual meeting, chaired by Derek Thomas MP (pictured with Tom), to discuss a varied agenda.

Speaking alongside Tom will be international keynote and motivational speaker Dave Bolton. Both men are living with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) and will be joined by other members of the brain tumour community who will contribute their experiences to give personal and poignant insights into what it means to be a UK brain tumour patient in 2021.

Dr Nicky Huskins, Director of the Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission, will update attendees on the Tessa Jowell Centres of Excellence Programme, which was launched at the meeting of the APPGBT in March. Our Chief Executive Sue Farrington Smith MBE will also provide an update on the ‘ Pathway to a Cure – breaking down the barriers’ inquiry, which Brain Tumour Research is proud to be working on.

We will provide an update following the meeting and you can follow #APPGBT on Twitter for live updates from the meeting.
